For the 2026 General Election on November 3rd, there will be two ballot questions to amend the Nevada State Constitution: Ballot Question # 6 on extending abortion practices and Ballot Question # 7 requiring voter ID.
Since both questions need to pass two consecutive elections, Nevada state law requires they maintain the same ballot number both elections. There are no Ballot Questions 1-5 this election.
2026 Nevada Ballot Questions
Question 6 - Abortion

EXPLANATION
What Ballot Question # 6 would do is enshrine abortion in the Nevada State Constitution in DRAMATICALLY different ways from the current law. Ballot Question # 6 would:
-
Extend abortion until “fetal viability” as defined by a health care practitioner at the time of the procedure—not legally capped at 24 weeks in non-life-threatening cases as under current Nevada law;
-
“Health Care Practitioner” is not just a medical doctor under current Nevada law, but would include an extended range of persons as defined by NRS 439A.0195(see below)—which includes dentists, physician assistants, acupuncturists, laboratory technicians, physical therapists, even school nurses.

All could now likely provided abortion services and would be authorized to determine “fetal viability”
-
Continue preventing parental notification of abortion services provided to minor girls—a practice which both undermines parents and severely raises the risk of hiding sexual trafficking of minors;
-
Restrict severely Nevada governments at the local or even the state level from making new laws about abortion forward—or even collecting statistics that might show problems with the policies.
Why such extreme changes to abortion, already legal in the state of Nevada? What is gained by giving non-doctors the ability to provide abortion services? Why bind future governments from addressing problems that might arise in the future?
We urge NO ON 6

Question 7 - Voter ID

EXPLANATION This ballot question would REQUIRE Voter ID in Nevada, meaning a picture ID before receiving a ballot at the polls and for mail ballots either the last digits of Social Security number or a number assigned by the County Clerk on explicit voter request.
-
The photo ID could be any currently recognized under Nevada state law (including Tribal ID cards).
-
Passing Ballot Question # 7 would mean Nevada would have Voter ID regardless of the status of the SAVE America Act nationally.
We urge YES ON 7.
